Meet Our 2024 GIC HIMSS Scholars!
Saniye Uslu is a sophomore at Loyola University Chicago, currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration with an accelerated graduation plan set for 2025. Elected as a student representative on the Healthcare Administration Program Council, Saniye collaborates with faculty and staff to contribute to program development and foster a sense of community within the HCA program. Saniye is also very passionate about serving others, evident in her two years of volunteer work as a youth mentor for high school students in her community. Her dedication also extends in her role as an administrative intern at an urgent care/women’s care clinic. There, she witnessed firsthand the critical importance of improving health information technology to enhance care, quality, and access while simultaneously reducing costs. Introduced to the expansive field of Health Informatics during a Health Information Systems Management course at Loyola University Chicago, Saniye is eager to deepen her understanding of this industry with the support of the GIC HIMSS Scholarship. With a keen interest in making a positive impact as a future healthcare leader, she looks forward to continued learning and growth in the field of Healthcare Information and Management Systems.
